Korhogo – The AOS Province inaugurates its Salesian pre-novitiate
On 24 November, the Salesian St Joseph Province of South West Africa (AOS) experienced a historic moment with the official opening of the St Carlo Acutis Prenovitiate in Korhogo, in the north of Ivory Coast. The celebration was presided over by the AOS Superior, Fr Denis Soro, assisted by the Vice-Provincil, Fr Sylvain Agbangba, involving the Salesian community in Korhogo. The ceremony began with the solemn blessing of the building, a symbol of the divine presence and protection over the future prenovices and their formators, Fr Chuks Akubueze and Fr Fritz Frederick Nii Ekue. The ceremony continued with Solemn Vespers, during which the Prenovitiate was officially declared open. Songs, psalms and prayers marked this liturgical moment, highlighting the spiritual and community dimension of Salesian life. Fifteen young people from the five countries of the Province entered the Prenovitiate, thus beginning the first phase of Salesian formation.
